Roanoke Area Ministries (RAM), a nonprofit organization working to alleviate homelessness and hunger in the Blue Ridge region, recently provided an update to The Roanoke Times recently on their capital campaign to fund the relocation and expansion of their services. RAM announced they have raised $1.6 million toward their $4.6 million goal so far, plus $475,000 in pending grants.
Prabhat Jain, CEO of Virginia Transformer, and The Jain Family donated a substantial amount to RAM earlier this year and matched donations in the final stages of the campaign. In honor of the Jain family’s generosity, RAM stated they will name the new facility the Jain Care Center.
